100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students of Underdeveloped Regions from Bangladesh – Spring 2024 Trimester

ATTENTION: ALL CONCERNED STUDENTS!!!

Meritorious students with poor financial background coming from remote underdeveloped regions of Bangladesh are eligible to receive 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver to support them throughout their educational endeavors at UIU. All concerned students, admitted in Spring 2024 Trimester, intending to apply for 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions Quota are required to submit their application to the Office of the Controller of Examinations by February 03, 2024 (Saturday).  Application form is available in the UIU Website.

Please note that following criteria will be followed in the sanctioning of 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver under the Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions Quota:

  1. 3% (three percent) of the newly admitted students of Spring 2024 trimester, who are permanent residents of any of the upazilas listed in the annex, are eligible to apply in this category (Annex – 1).
  2. The waiver is being offered for both undergraduate and graduate students.
  3. A student, who receives this waiver, will be waived from all tuition fee and other fees except admission fee, ID caution fee and retake course(s) fees.
  4. Upon selection, he/she will continue to receive the waiver till they obtain their degree, subject to the condition that s/he would be required to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 in a particular trimester for becoming eligible to get 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver in the following trimester.
  5. Applicants, who are eligible for both the categories of 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions and 100% Scholarship in order of Merit, will be awarded the waiver from the category of 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions.
  6. For continuation of this waiver, undergraduate students have to take minimum 9 credits and graduate students have to take minimum 6 credits in each trimester.

Documents to be attached with the application (available online) seeking Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students of Underdeveloped Regions scheme are as follows:

  • Recommendation letter(s) in favor of the student’s financial inability from the Union Parishad/ Municipality Chairman or the Ward Councilor.
  • Notary Public certified 300 Taka Non-Judicial Stamp stating student’s yearly family income and financial inability.
  • Copies of NID card/Birth Certificate of parents and student.
