United International University (UIU) commemorated National Library Day-2024 on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, under the theme ‘গ্রন্থাগারে বই পড়ি, স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ গড়ি’, pledging to establish a Smart Library.

As part of the celebration, an essay writing competition was conducted, and during the event, prizes were awarded to the winners. The 1st prize went to Mr. Mushfiq Shahriar Chowdhury from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the 2nd prize to Mr. Kazi Rumayet Islam from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and the 3rd prize to Mr. Wadiel Rahman from the Data Science Program.  

Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, presided over the program. In his address, he emphasized the importance of cultivating a habit of reading and utilizing library resources, urging students to become smart readers and contribute to the advancement of a Smart Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Raqibul Mostafa, Convener of the Library Management Committee, expressed the committee's commitment to supporting the UIU Library in upholding its principles.

The event witnessed the presence of students, faculty members, library professionals, and university officials, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
