Since its inception in 2011, the UIU Social Services Club (UIUSSC), a voluntary club of Directorate of Career Counseling and Student Affairs (DCCSA) of United International University (UIU) has been performing various humanitarian endeavors including assisting flood-affected people, organizing blood donation campaign, and winter clothes distribution and promoting cleanliness initiatives etc.

In line with its commitment to social responsibility, the UIU Social Services Club recently organized an event titled 'Eid Clothes Distribution and Iftar with Orphans' on last March 30, 2024 at the UIU campus. To facilitate this heartwarming initiative, the club conducted a donation campaign among students, faculty members, and administrative staff at UIU. The generous contributions enabled them to host an Iftar Mahfil and purchase new clothes for one hundred orphans and underprivileged children invited from two local orphanages ensuring that they could enjoy a special Eid celebration.

Club president Mr. Mifthahur Rahman said that there are many orphans and underprivileged children in our country who cannot celebrate Eid with their families and are constantly being deprived of the joy of Eid. This is our small effort to spread the happiness of Eid among them.

Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, Associate Professor, INS and Moderator of UIUSSC, administrative officers, ex-president and advisors of the club were present in the event. Prof. Dr. A.K.M Muzahidul Islam, Director of DCCSA, expressed heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the faculty members, administrative officers, and students of UIU for standing beside the orphans.

Rokomari.com gifted Islamic books, while Akij Food and Beverage Ltd. supplied drinks to enhance the children's experience with additional joy. The UIU Photography Club documented the memorable moments of the event.
