ATTENTION: ALL CONCERNED STUDENTS
Meritorious students with poor financial background coming from remote underdeveloped regions of Bangladesh are eligible to receive 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver to support them throughout their educational endeavors at UIU. All concerned students, admitted in Spring 2025 Semester, intending to apply for 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions Quota, are required to submit their application to the Office of the Controller of Examinations by March 9, 2025 (Sunday). Application form is available on the UIU Website (Download).
Please note that the following criteria will be followed in the sanctioning of 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver under the Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions Quota:
- 3% (three percent) of the newly admitted students of the Spring 2025 Semester, who qualify under this category are eligible to apply.
- The waiver is being offered for undergraduate students only.
- The applicant must have his/her permanent address in one of the upazilas listed under the category of ‘Very High Level of Poverty’ in the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) Report.
- The applicant must have passed HSC examination from an educational institution located in the upazila/district of his/her permanent address.
- A student, who receives this waiver, will be waived from tuition fee and other fees except admission fee, ID caution fee and retake course(s) fees.
- Upon selection, s/he will continue to receive the waiver till they obtain their degree, subject to the condition that s/he would be required to obtain a minimum GPA of 3.00 in a particular semester for becoming eligible to get 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver in the following semester.
- Applicants, who are eligible for both the categories of 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions and 100% Scholarship in order of Merit, will be awarded the waiver from the category of 100% Tuition Fee and Other Fees Waiver for Meritorious and Poor Students from Underdeveloped Regions.
- Undergraduate students have to register minimum 14 credits in each semester.
