About the Role: We are seeking a self-motivated team member to lead the financial operations of UIU’s dynamic research team at the Civil Engineering Department. The officer will ensure efficient and transparent fund utilization, compliance with institutional and donor guidelines, and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Checking invoices for goods, works and services and processing for payment;
• Ensure relevant taxes or SD deduction at the stage of making payment.;
• Maintain Bank Book, Payroll Registers, ledgers, Registers, etc.;
• Maintain vouchers/bills/receipts/invoices/contracts/work orders and all other important financial transactions and procurement documents in a systematic order
• Collect the bank statement and reconcile the bank balance
• Prepare the sub-project’s Interim Unaudited Financial Report (IUFR);
• Prepare a reply to the audit observations made by the government’s auditors from
• Foreign Aided Project Audit Directorate (FAPAD), as well as an internal auditor from a CA firm.
• Prepare quarterly and annual budget expenditure plans for the sub-project
• Any other financial management-related tasks assigned to him/her.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2nd Class/Division or GPA at least 3.5 out of 5 / CGPA 3.0 out of 4 at every stage of education.
• 1 - 2 years of experience in an accounting job, preferably in research, development projects, or NGOs. Experience in government projects will be given preference
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills,
• Desirable skills:  use of Chat GPT or Gemini or other AI tools, Report writing in English, Strong organizational skills, email writing, and use of Google apps such as Docs and Sheets.
• Candidate's age should not exceed 30 years.
