About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of UIU’s healthcare AI research projects. The Accountant will ensure transparent fund utilization, compliance with institutional and donor guidelines, and accurate financial reporting. This role is vital for maintaining fiscal accountability in high-impact research projects that address Bangladesh’s healthcare challenges through AI-driven innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of project-related financial transactions, ensuring compliance with UIU and donor policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, track expenditures, and support project teams in financial planning and forecasting.
• Oversee disbursements, reimbursements, and vendor payments while ensuring documentation and audit readiness.
• Support procurement processes by preparing cost comparisons, verifying invoices, and monitoring vendor contracts.
• Coordinate with auditors, funding agencies, and UIU’s finance office to ensure financial compliance.
• Maintain payroll records for project staff and consultants.
• Provide financial insights to project leadership for informed decision-making.
  
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 2+ years of professional experience in accounting, preferably in research, development projects, or NGOs. Experience in government project handling will be given preference
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and audit processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with donor-funded project financial management is a plus.
• Strong integrity and commitment to financial transparency.
