Photo Carnival’23 held at UIU

“Photo Carnival ’23” at United International University (UIU) sounds like an exciting and successful photography exhibition. Photo Carnival ’23 took place from August 26th to August 30th, 2023, at United International University (UIU). The event was organized by the UIU Photography Club (UIUPC), which is a part of the Directorate of Career Counseling and Student Affairs (DCCSA) at UIU.

Professor Dr. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice Chancellor (In-charge) of UIU, inaugurated the carnival and later visited the exhibition where he praised the UIU Photography Club for their contributions and efforts.

More than 500 photographs were submitted for the exhibition, and 52 photographs were selected for display. Among the selected photographs, 33 were taken with mobile phones, and 19 were captured with cameras.

The event attracted visitors from photography clubs of renowned institutions, including Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, East West University, American International University – Bangladesh, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, and Shamsul Hoque Khan School and College.

Several sponsors supported the event, including ‘’ as the electronic media partner, ‘Savoy’ as the ice cream partner, Aronnonibash Eco Resort as the holiday partner, ‘1 Stop’ as the ecommerce partner, and ‘Bangla 71’ and ‘Uttaradhikar 71 News’ as print and online media partners.

The event concluded with a prize giving and closing ceremony on August 30th at 3:30 pm. Ms. Zohara Nazneen, Deputy Director of DCCSA, along with other officers, guests, and the club president, awarded prizes, certificates, and gifts to the winners. In the camera category, Dipto Mahdud Sultan was the winner, Pulok Sikdar was the 1st Runner Up and Adib Mahmood was the 2nd Runner Up. In the phone category, Tanvir Ahmed was the winner, Adib Mahmood was the 1st Runner Up and Ahmad Hasan was the 2nd Runner Up. Dipto Mahdud Sultan received an Honorable Mention. All participants received certificates, goodies, and their respective photo frames.

The UIU authorities expressed their gratitude to the organizers, participants, visitors, partners, and sponsors for their unwavering support. They believe that the exhibition provided a platform for young photography talents to showcase their skills. Overall, Photo Carnival ’23 at UIU appears to have been a successful and well-supported event that celebrated the art of photography and provided recognition to talented photographers.
