Join Presentation Champs: Season 1, organized by the UIU English Language Forum (ELF), one of the top forums under the Directorate of Career Counseling and Student Affairs (DCCSA). This exciting intra-university competition is designed to enhance and spotlight the presentation talents of students from United International University (UIU). Participants will face multiple rounds, testing their communication, leadership, and creativity. Whether you’re an experienced speaker or eager to improve your presentation abilities, this is your moment to shine!
Training Sessions: To help you perform at your best, we’ve arranged in-depth training sessions before each round. These sessions will cover fundamental to advanced presentation a technique, including the innovative PechaKucha format, ensuring every participant is fully prepared to deliver their best performance.
Program Schedule:
Registration Period: 17th - 24th September, 2024
First Training Session: 25th September, 2024 (Wednesday)
Preliminary Round: 27th September, 2024 (Friday)
Second Training Session: 28th September, 2024 (Saturday)
Semi-Final Round: 30th September, 2024 (Monday)
Final Training Session: 2nd October, 2024 (Wednesday)
Grand Finale: 5th October, 2024 (Saturday)
Eligibility:
Open to all graduate and undergraduate enrolled students of UIU from any department.
Competition Structure:
Preliminary Round (Informative Presentations):
In this opening round, around 50 teams will present on a topic of their choice, focusing on delivering an informative and engaging presentation. A panel of judges will evaluate teams based on body language, content relevance, and time management. Only 16 teams will advance to the next stage.
Semi-Final Round (Instructive Presentations):
The 16 advancing teams will compete in the Semi-Final round, which emphasizes instructive presentations. Teams must not only present but also educate and propose innovative solutions on a given topic. With a focus on creativity, collaboration, and audience engagement, only 8 teams will move on to the Final Round.
Final Round (PechaKucha Presentations):
The top 8 teams will compete in the exciting PechaKucha format for the final showcase. PechaKucha involves 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each, requiring concise storytelling and impactful visuals. Teams must deliver their presentations within the 6-minute and 40-second timeframe. Finalists will be judged on time management, innovation, and audience engagement, and the best team will be crowned the ultimate Presentation Champ.
Team Formation:
- Team Size: Each team must consist of exactly 3 members.
- Cross-Department Teams: Students from different departments are encouraged to collaborate, allowing for a diverse mix of skills and perspectives.
- Registration: Teams must register before the deadline. Ensure your team is ready to compete in all rounds of the competition.
Registration fee: BDT 600 (Per Team)
Prize Pool:
Champion: Title of "Presentation Champ," cash prize of BDT 15,000, Trophy, and Certificate
1st Runner-Up: Cash prize of BDT 10,000 and Certificate
2nd Runner-Up: Cash prize of BDT 5,000 and Certificate
