Students interested in taking admission in UIU should
procure admission materials from the Admission Office and return the filled in
Application Forms along with other documents to the Admission Office. Original
and photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, 2 copies of
passport size & 1 copy of stamp size photograph are required to be
submitted with the admission forms. Original papers will be returned after
verification & attestation of the photocopies by the Admission Counselor.
After primary scrutiny, applicants will be called to sit for an admission test
and interview. Admission tests are administered for Spring, Summer and Fall
semesters. Test dates are published in newspapers and in the university website
at http://www.uiu.ac.bd.
Admission on
Credit Transfer
Students desiring to transfer
their credits are expected to have at least a CGPA of 2.5 in all previous exams
to be considered for admission to the University. Students intending to
transfer to UIU must submit syllabus and official transcripts from previously
attended colleges and universities along with the admission applications.
Failure to provide either will disqualify the applicants. Transfer students may
be allowed to transfer credits if a minimum of "B" grade is obtained
in the respective courses or if UIU Equivalence Committee recommends such
credit transfer. Admission Test may be required for transferring students.
Individual department may have some additional requirements.
Admission of Foreign
Applicants
International applicants seeking
admission to UIU must meet the same academic standards for admission for native
students. International applicants are selected on the basis of their prior
academic work, English proficiency and certification of adequate financial
resources.
Admission Cancellation
Admission of any student may be
cancelled by UIU authority for the following reason(s):
* If a student does not continue 3 trimesters
consecutively.
*If a student does not pay his/her dues in
time.
*If a student fails to produce necessary
academic documents to the admission office.
*If a student takes part in any activity that
goes against discipline or UIU rules & regulations.
Readmission
UIU students whose admission has been cancelled must submit an application for
readmission.If those students have attended other colleges and universities
during their absence at UIU they must submit official transcripts along
with their applications. Such students will have to pay the readmission
fees
Provisional Admission
UIU may provisionally accept applicants for admission who cannot produce
official transcripts, certificates and other necessary documents at the time of
admission. As a prerequisite all provisionally admitted students will be
required to submit the appropriate credentials to continue. Required
credentials must be submitted within the semester of initial enrollment.
Non-degree Students
Applicants who have not participated in formal education for some time or
applicants who do not intend to become candidates for a degree may register for
credits in undergraduate and graduate courses as non-degree students. Such
students may apply at any time to be admitted to an UIU degree program.
Non-degree students may obtain transcripts reflecting credits for the
semester(s)/courses attended.
